An Introduction - My First Blog Post

Welcome to my personal corner of the web. If you've landed here, you're probably a bit like me—curious, passionate about technology, and always looking to learn something new. My name is Tyler Ronek, and this blog is more than just a collection of posts; it's an extension of a journey defined by perseverance.

My Journey

My path into technology hasn't been a straight line. For the last few years, I've been pursuing the career I'm passionate about while simultaneously going to school full-time and battling AFLD > Fibrosis > Compensated Cirrhosis > ESLD Decompensated Cirrhosis. Having ESLD puts me at very high risk of other complications, including but not limited to GI bleeding, Esophagael Varices, Asites, Portal Hypertension, AKI, and eventually Liver Cancer/Failure without proper care and liver transplant. It has been an immense challenge, one that has tested my limits in every way imaginable.

In November of 2024, I was diagnosed with Alcoholic Cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 30. For years prior, I have had GI issues, such as fatty liver, stomach ulcers, and general GI discomfort. I went to the Emergency Room, as I was projectile vommiting black coffee grounds texture blood. I was immediately admitted to Hospital after registration due to the urgency of my medical condition. I was told I have cirrhosis before imaging was completed--that's how obvious it was to the admitting doctor based simply off of jaundice. I was in the ICU for a week and during that time I had emergency EGD to band esocophagael varices. I gained 50 pounds due to the amount of blood infusions and fluids i had to be giving considering my state of anemia combied with dehydration and malnoushment.

Since then, I have been fighting the complications (anemia, hepatic encephalaphy, kidney injury, Upper GI Varices/bleeding; just to name a few) that come with having cirrhosis resulting in multiple unplanned extended hospitalizations, in addition to finding out I have a genetic marker that increases liver inflammation risk.

What to Expect Here

Through the toughest days, my passion for technology—for building, creating, and solving problems—has been my anchor and my driving force. This server, this website, and every project hosted here are not just technical exercises; they are a testament to that fight and a symbol of what's possible when you refuse to give up on what you love.

This blog will be a space for me to document my projects, share solutions to problems I've encountered, and offer my thoughts on the ever-changing landscape of technology. Whether it's a deep dive into setting up a web server or a tutorial on a new framework, my goal is to share knowledge that is both practical and insightful.

Thank you for stopping by. I'm excited to share this journey with you, and I hope you'll find the content here useful and inspiring. Feel free to explore my projects or get in touch!
